Creation of SOVAM

First orders for airport service vehicles

At the Paris Commercial Vehicle Show, SOVAM was noticed by airport traffic representatives and the company won its first orders for airport service vehicles:
10 buses to transport AIR France crew
12 large buses for Orly airport. Called amphidrome, these buses can carry 80 passengers.
Airport GSE supplier of
Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG)

SOVAM became the GSE supplier for Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, which opened on 8 March 1974.
Development of the AEROBUS with the support of the State Secretariat for Research.

After a year of intensive trials at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), the AEROBUS/SHUTTLE LIFT, named AL150, was a great success at the Paris International Air Show.
Construction of the first military vehicle.

Construction of the first military vehicle at the request of André Goldman, the Sovamag TC10. Sovamag equips the French Air Force.
The world’s first mobile glass footbridge is built by SOVAM.

The world’s first mobile glass footbridge is built by SOVAM. It will be delivered and commissioned at Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport.
Separation of activities.

Separation of activities, with the “special vehicles and warehouse vehicles” department becoming ETALMOBIL S.A. and the “GSE airport equipment” department becoming SOVAM INTERNATIONAL.
SOVAM joins Irish investment fund Abbey International Finance.

Finance Abbey International is an independent niche finance company based in Dublin. The Abbey Group seeks to work with businesses and entrepreneurs to create bespoke solutions. However, Abbey is more than just a finance company. The firm aims to maximise the return on its commercial activities for the benefit of charitable causes. To date, these causes have supported more than €60 million.
SOVAM is developing its Retrofit activities.

Retrofitting is the partial or complete renovation of a vehicle. The difference with a standard retrofit lies in the possibility of converting an internal combustion engine into an electric one.
Launch of the ALTA maintenance platform.
